Moderated by Orietta Pelizzari from the Camera Nazionale della Moda, the event served as a platform to delve into the challenges and opportunities of expanding fashion brands into the Middle Eastern market.
Distinguished panelists included Leda Di Marti, CEO, and Martina Di Pasquale, CMO, of Maelle Group UAE, along with renowned Chinese actor and model Hu Bing, Bouyong Lee, Brand Business Division Chief Brand Officer Executive Vice President at Shinsegae, South Korea, and Nicola Guerini, Director-General of the Università Milano Fashion Institute, Milan.

Maelle, in collaboration with Camera Moda, presents a panel on one of the most captivating themes and markets of the past five years – the Middle East, which is evolving at the speed of light. Titled “Middle East: Innovation in Retail and Contemporary Fashion Consumer in the Middle East,” the panel, part of the “Cross-cultural Business Conversations” features distinguished guests, including Francois Schweitzer, General Merchandising Manager at Etoile Group, Antonio Ruggiero, Technology Strategist at Microsoft Italia, and Paolo Lo Monaco, CFO at Al Khayyat Investment (AKI).

During the presentation and “conversation”, conducted by the CEO of Level Shoes, Elisa Bruno expained how Level Shoes was born as a format to showcase footwear within the Dubai Mall of Emaar, a Chalhoub reality that operates independently and aims for expansion in other markets by 2025-2026.
The Maelle team served as mentors and judges for the Hult Prize in 2023, where the focus industry was Fashion, and they will continue in these roles for 2024.

On August 19, 2023, the 22 competing startups in the Hult Prize for Fashion Revolution held their final pitch day of the season, in a presentation lasting 4 intense hours. The judges convened and deliberated on the following day, August 20th, deciding the six finalist startups winners of the $100,000 American dollars, who will compete one last time on September 22nd in Paris to win one million dollars.
The winners who were mentored by Maelle team are: Innovious Eco, Graff Inc, LabWear. The teams were compiting to win 1 million USD.
